Hello! I’m Mixy, or you might know me as Penn. I’m a mixed media and textile artist, an experimenter, idea magpie, and part womble.
Born and lived mostly on the outer outskirts of London, and little bits in Northern Cyprus. I spend most of my time in my imagination, a bright, colourful place populated with made up animals.
Over the years I’ve freelanced in graphic design, photography & photo editing, digital art & illustration. For a few years I made glass beadwork, jewellery and little textile things I sold at art & craft fairs.
In my 30s I took a foundation course in art & design and I fell in love with mixed media. It felt like coming home! I went on to get Distinction in Fine Art & Design HND.
The Eye logo is taken from a still of the video installation I made for my degree show at college. (Yes, it is my eye!)
